Canesten One Dose Pessary Treatment & Cream

1 x Clotrimazole 1[%]w/w 20g cream & 1 x Clotrimazole 500mg pessary with applicator

Insert the pessary gently and deeply into the vagina at bedtime using the applicator provided.
Anti-fungal cream
To relive symptoms of external vulvovaginal itching, gently apply Canesten anti-fungal cream to the affected area 2 – 3 times daily.
Partner treatment
Apply Canesten anti-fungal cream to the genital area 2 – 3 times daily

Candida is an overgrowth of yeast fungus resulting in an imbalance of the natural micro-organismms present in the vagina. In this condition the Candida organism predominates causing the symptoms of discomfort and discharge. Diabetes, obesity, illness, and fatigue can increase susceptibility to the condition. Hormonal fluctuations during pregnancy, at certain times of the menstrual cycle, or due to the oral contraceptive pill, can also increase susceptibility. The balance of the vaginal enviroment can be altered by the prolonged use of certain medications, such as anti-biotics and steriods, by soaking in baths using oils, or harsh soaps, by wearing too tight or synthetic clothing.
