Grape Seed Extract provides Oligomeric Procyanidins (OPCs), which possess potent antioxidant properties, to protect against cellular damage caused by free radicals. OPCs also support healthy skin and connective tissues by encouraging the production of collagen and elastin in the skin matrix.

OPC’s (Oligomeric ProanthoCyanidins) are the active component of Grape Seeds. Studies have shown Grape seed extract to be highly bioavailable and provide greater antioxidant protection than vitamins C, E and beta-carotene. Oxidative damage is implicated in many degenerative diseases as well as the aging process, therefore antioxidants are recommended to help minimize these processes. OPC’s also inhibit enzymes involved in collagen destruction e.g. collagenase, elastase, and have shown anti-allergic and anti-inflammatory properties. Grape Seed extract has been shown to improve capillary permeability and strength and to increase venous tone in those with varicose veins. |
